Memorial Day Weekend is here, which is a time of remembrance and reflection in the United States. It honors the men and women who have died while serving in the U.S. military. It's also the unofficial start to summer, kicking off with parades, ceremonies and community events. We've put together a list of events taking place this weekend around Bucks County. Penndel Hulmeville Memorial Day Parade

Main Street, Hulmeville, PA
Saturday, May 24th, 9 am

The parade will start at 9am at Ford and Main St in Hulmeville, ending approx. at 11:45am at the Penndel Memorial Ball Field on Delola Ave Penndel. You will see local heroes, civil organizations, local church groups, and live music from at least 5 bands. Line the streets and salute our greatest American and Hometown heroes!

Memorial Day Walking Tour of Historic New Hope

Step back in time and honor the heroes who shaped our nation! This Memorial Day, embark on a captivating walking tour through the heart of historic New Hope. Discover the stories of bravery, sacrifice, and resilience that have defined our community as we honor New Hope residents and all who made the ultimate sacrifice on the battlefield. Also included are discussions of the Revolutionary War and Civil War.

Doylestown Memorial Day Parade

Main Street, Doylestown, PA
Monday, May 26, 10 am

Come out to one of the oldest Memorial Day Parades in the United States. Now in its 157th year, this annual event is held to honor and remember the American Veterans whose sacrifices in defense of our nation and its democratic ideals are responsible for the freedoms we enjoy today. The morning begins with a flag-raising ceremony at War Memorial Field. The parade leaves Central Bucks West High School at 10:00 AM. The event ends with a 30-minute Memorial Service, where the United Veterans of Doylestown lay wreaths in remembrance of our fallen heroes.

Bucks County Veterans Affairs is hosting its annual Memorial Day Ceremony on Friday, May 23, at 10 a.m. at the World War I Memorial Fountain at the corner of Broad St. & Main St. in Doylestown Borough. The program will feature the Central Bucks West High School Choir, Marine Corps League Color Guard, a POW/MIA Ceremony and several speakers, including Bucks County Veterans Affairs Director Matt Allen.

Rock out with Elmo, Abby Cadabby, Cookie Monster, and Count von Count, as their music fills the air and the sky is covered with colorful bursts of brilliance. Be sure to watch them paint the sky red (and green and blue) from inside the park. This impressive display will certainly give you something to celebrate this Memorial Day Weekend!
