Extreme Scavenger Hunt to be Held in Doylestown

While you can always count on entertaining music, yummy food, and talented vendors at the Doylestown Arts Fest, this year the festival is going techie with a twist, hosting a town-wide scavenger hunt using the revolutionary Microsoft tag technology.

Now, if techie talk sounds like Greek to you don't worry; using tag technology is as simple as snapping a picture on your phone (literally).  All you need is one team member with a smart phone to download the tag application at http://gettag.mobi. Then use that phone to snap pictures of tags, like the one shown to the right here, and your phone will bring you to the next clue.  You can actually test your phone by snapping a picture of the tag shown to the right, which will direct you to the rules and regulations of the scavenger hunt.

At 4pm, both Saturday, September 11th and Sunday, September 12th, teams will get the chance to race around town to snap all 7 tags for the chance to win big prizes*, including:

• Four Microsoft Xbox 360 S – game consoles

  • Input Device Game pad – wireless
  • Connectivity Features WiFi (IEEE 802.11 b/g/n)
  • Included Game Console Accessories Composite AV cable, Xbox Live headset

• 2 children's books from Secret Garden Book Store

The scavenger hunt is being organized by The Catalyze Group; a Doylestown based company with over 18 years of experience in the technology field, specifically aimed at fulfilling marketing and business flow needs. Sponsors include: Bucks and Montgomery Living, Thompson Toyota Scion Lexus BMW, Univest, Doylestown Alive, Microsoft.

Rules & Regulations:

1. At least one participant in each group MUST be 18 years of age or older.
2. Driving is not required to participate in this scavenger hunt.
3. Participants must obey all local, state, and federal laws.
4. Participants must obey all instructions from sponsors.
5. Registration in either of the Doylestown Arts Festival’s scavenger hunts makes you eligible for the chance to win.
6. Only one prize will be awarded to an individual or household.
7. Register at The Catalyze Group's booth at the Art Festival between the hours of 10:30 A.M. and 3 P.M. Providing:
   1. First and last name
   2. Cell number
   3. Email address.
8. At least one participant in each group MUST have a mobile phone and contact numbers for emergency.
9. At least one participant in each group MUST have a mobile phone that has a camera, internet connection, and Microsoft’s FREE Tag Reader application installed on it.

10. Your phone must be presented when you register and when you finish the scavenger hunt.
11. Find and snap all 7 scavenger hunt tags.
12. All scavenger hunt tags and items have to be found within the boundaries of this scavenger hunt. (See Boundaries area of the rules.)
13. Take pictures of all 7 required scavenger hunt items and save the images as proof.
14. Present the pictures and Tag History to a DBCA representative at the finish location (Find the last clue to locate the end)
15. All winners will be notified by phone (phone number presented at registration) by 5 o’clock.
