Bucks Happening is proud to announce an online scarecrow photo contest in conjunction with the 32nd Annual Scarecrow Competition and Display. This addition to the main competition is devoted to celebrating the locals of Bucks County and surrounding areas.  The contest will run from September 6th-30th, 2010. In addition to the $5,000 in prizes that Peddler's Village is giving away in conjunction with the main competition, the scarecrow with the most votes on the Bucks Happening website will be awarded one free overnight stay at the Golden Plough Inn in Peddler's Village- an estimated retail value of $325!

In order to be eligible for the online contest, scarecrows must be entered into the main competition, which happens live at Peddler's Village.  The deadline to enter the main competition is September 3, 2010.  In order to enter BucksHappening.com contest, entrants must submit a photo of their scarecrow, along with contact information, to contest@bucks.happeningmag.com. All entries must follow official rules and regulations, which are posted at www.BucksHappening.com.

The Keystone Krow : Create the person, place or thing – past, present or future that says “Pennsylvania” to you! Or perhaps you'll choose to narrow your focus to create something that screams Bucks County! The PA possibilities are endless!!

Extraordinary Contemporary Scarecrow: Think outside the box on this one – not necessarily a “scarecrow” – more like a cutting edge creation for the garden. You are only limited by your imagination!

Traditional/Whirligig Scarecrow: A combination of two old favorites! Pay homage to the scarecrows that have been “scaring crows” from the farmer's fields and gardens for centuries. You may choose to add parts that move or make noise when the wind gusts to make it a true whirligig – either way your scarecrow has it's work cut out for it here in the Village.

Group Scarecrow: Make your scarecrow a group project — school, church, office, business, club, scout troop, neighborhood, etc. Put your creative thinking caps on and conjure up a winner!

Quite the Character Scarecrow: Open a world of possibilities as you create a scarecrow interpretation of your favorite television character – human, animal or animated!

Kids Only! Scarecrow: Kids 12 and under can enter and should do the majority of creation themselves in a category that gives kids the opportunity to compete with their peers.
