After a snowy, cold winter, summer weather has seemed to hit us fast and hard. It’s time to grab your suit and take a dip. If you are someone not fortunate enough to have a pool in your backyard don’t fret, there are lots of options for swimming and sunbathing in your area.

Public Pools:

Neshaminy State Park

The main pool and children’s spray pool are open from the Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day. Regular hours for weekends and holidays are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, unless otherwise posted. Lifeguards are on duty when the pools are open.

Insider tip: Planning a big party or gathering? You can reserve a picnic area right by the swimming pool with BBQ pits, tables, and benches.

Oxford Valley Pool

Pool opens Weekends and holidays only, May 24-June 22 Noon-7 p.m. June 23-Sept. 1- Open daily Noon- 8:00 p.m.Closed after Labor Day. You can pay to visit for the day or buy a season pass and there is even a swim team for the kids to join! Water slide closes before pool and occasionally closes due to classes or programs. Pool closes during swim meets.

Tohickon Valley Pool

Pool is open Memorial Day Weekend (Weekends Only until – mid – June) Mid-June to Labor Day (Seven days a week) Hours: 12:00 P.M. to 6:30 P.M. Daily; Wednesday until 8:00 P.M. Situated in the 612 acre Tohickon Valley Park, this quiet, secluded pool is surrounded by scenic woodlands and rugged terrain. The pool offers memberships, swim lessons, weekly events for the whole family.

Insider tip: Access to the pool is included if you have a permit to camp in the park.

Lower Makefield Township Community Pool

The pool complex consists of: 4 heated pools, Olympic size 50 meter, 25 meter x 25 yard lap, intermediate pool, tot pool diving boards, dual 18 foot slides – one speed, one flume, snack bar, rest/changing Rooms with showers. Membership required.

Insider tip: If you have someone helping with the kids this summer you can get them a caregiver membership.

Newtown Athletic Club

This state-of-the-art pool complex includes a zero-entry pool, a lazy river, and an adults-only pool with a jacuzzi.

Fanny Chapman Swimming Pool

The pool complex consists of four pools (including a children's wading pool) and locker rooms. Membership required.

Insider tip: (well more of a fun fact) This pool is historic, it opened in June of 1927!

Hatboro Memorial Pool
