On Sunday, March 6 at Mid-Atlantic Nationals in Wildwood, NJ, Rock Starz All Stars made history for their cheer organization by earning a full paid bid to The Cheerleading Worlds, the most prestigious cheerleading championship. The first in their history full paid bid was presented to Diamonds, Rock Starz SR Small Coed Level 5 cheer team. The bid includes the privilege of competing at Worlds, plus $25,000 to pay for their expenses.

After months of hard work and dedication, Rock Starz coaches could not be prouder of the Diamonds team for earning a paid for spot at Worlds. Last season, Rock Starz didn’t have a Level 5 cheer team that competed and had the opportunity to make it to Worlds. This year, their goal was to bring back the Diamonds and make them stronger and better than ever before. Mid-way through their season, Diamonds have surpassed their goal by competing at their highest potential and earning record high scores by the judges.

“Diamonds, you blew us away with a full paid bid to Worlds! This is a Rock Starz first and we are so proud of you all. After not having a level 5 team last year and rebuilding this year, you accomplished something so incredible, we can hardly believe it’s true! On your team, we have 12 members that are new to level 5 this year out of 15 total. Being new to level 5 and rising to the top so quickly is remarkable. Congratulations for making Rock Starz history and good luck at Worlds; our entire team will be proudly watching you back at home in the gym!” – Chris Lanctot, Rock Starz Director

The Cheerleading Worlds is an annual event held by the USASF. Senior and Open level 5 and 6 teams from the United States and 40+ other countries have the opportunity to earn a bid to compete at Worlds. The first Cheerleading Worlds competition was held in 2004, and since its inception, it has been held in late April at Walt Disney’s ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Florida. This year, Worlds is from April 29 – May 1.

A bid is an invitation to compete, and must be earned through competing at an event that offers them. There are 120+ event producers who offer bids to both The Cheerleading Worlds and The Summit. A team cannot compete at either competition without earning a bid. Three types of bids are available to compete at The Cheerleading Worlds. The most desirable and most difficult to get is a full paid bid. A full paid bid is exactly what is implied in the name. Teams who receive these bids get the privilege of competing at Worlds with all of their expenses paid. These expenses include lodging, passes to the Disney Parks, and registration fees to compete at the event. Full paid bids are awarded to only the highest scoring teams at the largest and most prestigious competitions throughout the season.

The Rock Starz All Stars was born in the summer of 2007 as an extension of the very successful CRWA Council Rock Competition organization. There are 9 teams from levels 1-5 and ages 3-18 years old. For the previous nine years, the Rock Starz have participated in many local and regional competitions throughout the Greater Philadelphia area.
