Embrace the wintry wonderland! One of the best ways to do that is by taking advantage of the great sledding hills of Bucks County. Bundle up, grab your sled, and get ready to fly down some of the best hills that Bucks County has to offer. Below are 5 of our favorite hills to sled down in and around Bucks County:
1. Magill's Park or “Suicide Hill” in New Hope- Magill's Hill is a 5-acre site that consists of steeply sloped hills which can be used for sledding or other winter activities. You'll find the hill just out of New Hope where River Road bends to the left and crosses over the Delaware Canal (just past the ramps for the Route 202 bypass).
2. The Mercer Museum Sledding Hill: Arguably the most popular sledding hill in town. Note: It's central and well-known location means it's often rubbed clean of snow well before the average lawn.
3. Tyler Park: Slopes below the Upper Plantation Picnic Area parking lot and the slopes west of the covered bridge are great for sledding and tobogganing when conditions permit.
4. Nockamixon Park: The area above the marina is used for sledding and tobogganing.
5. Belle Mountain: While not technically in Bucks, this hill is worth the trip across the Delaware! In fact, it used to operate as a small ski resort. Find it on Valley Rd. of Rt. 29 south of Lambertville, N. J.
