The World Cup championship games are still fresh in everyone's mind, it’s not hard to have soccer fever. Soccer is a great way for kids, and adults, to stay fit and stay social. Bucks County has great options for aspiring soccer players such as the Yardley Makefield soccer teams. According to their website “Yardley Makefield Soccer exists to create a positive environment for all athletes to improve as individuals through the sport of soccer, with strong emphasis on character, work ethic, and a positive attitude.”
On July 1 the YMS Premiere Xplosion 98 defeated the Loudon 98 Red of Virginia in the Region I under 15 girls held at the University of Rhode Island. The game was a nail biter and the Yardley team scored a point just before halftime. They were then able to hang onto their slight lead throughout the second half and win with a score of 1 to 0. This makes the 3rd consecutive Region I title for Yardley Makefield Soccer.
