Tastebuds Restaurant New Hope PAWe have dined at Tastebuds in New Hope three or four times now, and it is definitely the best restaurant in the area, and one of the best I've been to.  The amazing part about it is the fact that I have lived here in Bucks County for more than 25 years, and I only discovered this gem about 2 years ago.  Tastebuds has been wowing the locals for more than 10 years!

Tastebuds Restaurant New Hope PALocation: About a block off of Main Street, Tastebuds is located on the quiet corner of Stockton and West Ferry Streets.  Like most restaurants in New Hope, Tastebuds does not own its own parking lot, so you will have to find street parking.  Bring your quarters.

Ambiance: Tastebuds reminds me of a West Village restaurant.  Low key.  Sophisticated, and the music to set that mood.  Candelit.  A white-washed room accented by an old, well-kept hardwood floor and splashed of color on the walls and ceiling.  Very hip.

Taste: This is the best part!! The name Tastebuds is the perfect name, because their menu is TASTY.  I always say that for a few day after dining at Tastebuds, all other meals pale in comparison to the explosion of flavor that Tastebus provides.  I ordered the Cauliflower Bisque to start, followed by the Baked Champagne Snapper.  Everything was a.maaaz.ing.   My tastebuds experienced a taste overload!  My husband ordered an appetizer portion of Wild Mushroom Ravioli, followed by the Marinated Lamb Loin.  He also raved about his meal (I tasted it, there was much to rave about!).  The best part is that everything tastes so FRESH.  You know that you are eating freshly-prepared food, with the best ingredients.  No preservatives and totally cooked to order. And the dessert:  we split the Tres Leches, a Spanish dessert of white pound cake in a milk sauce.  I was begging for the recipe!!!

Service: The Tastebuds team is a small one.  The same 2 waiters are always there, and they are great.  Very friendly, very knowledgeable and very attentive.  I always ask their opinions on the menu, and they add to the ambiance.  I would call the pace of the meal “leisurely.”  It is definitely not a “quick” meal.  This is because, as I mentioned, everything is prepared fresh.   But the pace was enjoyable.  My husband and I enjoyed the fact that we didn't feel rushed, and that at the end we didn't feel too full, because we had time to eat slowly.

Other info: Tastebuds is a BYOB.  Also, they take cash or check, no credit card, so make sure you hit up the ATM before you head over!
