Two Buttons in Frenchtown
Today my wife Lisa and I went to Frenchtown, New Jersey. It was the 12th Annual Bastille Day Fête.
During our visit there, we took a trip on the south end of town to visit Two Buttons. It is in an aluminum warehouse-style building in the same building and just behind the Lovin’ Oven (grille store). The address is 62A Trenton Avenue (Route 29)
The name Two Buttons comes from a Laotian priest who told co-owner Elizabeth Gilbert that they “had so much love for life that we needed nothing more than two buttons in our pockets to get by in this world.”
You may remember the name Elizabeth Gilbert from the best seller Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman's Search for Everything Across Italy, India and Indonesia . The movie starring Julia Roberts will be released August 13th.
At any rate, the store is packed with things from India, Thailand and other places in Southeast Asia. Most prominent are the various images of Buddha that range from inches tall to perhaps 8 feet in height. They also have handmade tapestries and other woven items.
If you have Far Eastern décor or into one of a kind items, Two Buttons is definitely worth a trip to Frenchtown!!
