Twilight Garden Tour: Poison, Potions & Folklore in the Colonial Garden

1112 River Road, Washington Crossing, PA
Friday, October 30, 5:30-6:30 pm

As dusk settles over Washington Crossing Historic Park, step onto the shadowed paths of the Hibbs House Kitchen Garden as you step back into time to discover the danger and mystery hidden within the 18th century garden. Join Park Historical Horticulturist Anna Davis for a twilight exploration of the plants that lived on the darker edge of the colonial garden. In the 18th century, gardens were more than places of beauty and food; they were also sources of powerful medicines, protective herbs, dyes, and occasionally plants with dangerous reputations. This special twilight program is offered just before the park’s October 30th Lantern Tour and provides a unique glimpse into the more mysterious side of historic gardening.
