September is in full swing, and another weekend of local happenings is just around the corner in Bucks. As we head into the weekend, our community takes the time to remember and honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001. Throughout Bucks County, you’ll find opportunities to come together in remembrance, along with early fall festivals, family-friendly activities, and live entertainment. On Friday, Acoustic Keys will be playing acoustic from 6-9 pm and Comfort Kitchen Food Truck on site from 5-9 pm if you want to grab a bite to eat to enjoy with your wine! On Saturday, Mike Chet Beck will be playing live from 4 to 8pm and The Craven and Cousins Maine Lobster Food Trucks on site from 12-9 pm. Sunday, Susan Steen will be playing acoustic from 1-5 pm and JRads Woodfire Pizza Truck will be on site from 12-6 pm.

9/11 Remembrance Ceremony

Secret Garden, Newtown, PA
September 11, 8:30 am

On the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, the Garden of Reflection will host a morning ceremony to commemorate the tragic day by marking the chronological events. The ceremony will begin at 8:30 AM and conclude within an hour, followed by a period for reflection and visits to the memorial. Throughout the morning, a bell will mark each significant moment from that day.

Morning Timeline:
8:30 AM: Ceremony begins with the tolling of the bell nine times for the nine victims from Lower Makefield Township
8:47 AM: Bell toll for the impact of Flight 11 on the North Tower
9:03 AM: Bell toll for the impact of Flight 175 on the South Tower
9:37 AM: Bell toll marking the attack on the Pentagon
9:59 AM: Bell toll marking the collapse of the South Tower
10:07 AM: Bell toll honoring the passengers and crew of Flight 93 in Shanksville, PA
10:28 AM: Bell toll marking the collapse of the North Tower
Following the ceremony, the Garden of Reflection will remain open for quiet reflection, and visitors are invited to walk the memorial on self-guided tours.

An evening remembrance ceremony will begin at 6:00 p.m. and conclude before sunset, offering the community an opportunity to honor, reflect, and unite in remembrance as we mark the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001. Following the ceremony, attendees are invited to participate in a candle-lighting to pay tribute to the lives lost and share a quiet moment of reflection and hope.

35th Annual Doylestown Arts Festival

This September 12th & 13th the Doylestown Arts Festival returns for its 35th anniversary! Featuring over 170 independent artists, live music on 5 stages, and activities for all ages, this is not a weekend to miss. The event is rain or shine, and is FREE to the public.

Saturday Morning Bird Walk

Join a local birding expert for a guided bird walk at Peace Valley Nature Center! Discover and identify local birds as you learn and practice bird-watching techniques. Meet outside the PVNC Visitors’ Center at 8:00 am to begin your walk. This free event is open to ages 15 and up, and all experience levels are welcome!
