Halloween is nearly here! Can you believe it? This is the final weekend to really get in the spirit. Hopefully you have your costume picked out, your pumpkins carved and your party planned! If you are still not in the spirit check out our post on simple and easy ways to celebrate Halloween right.

Friday night, grab your costumes and join the Bucks Happening team on the dance floor at the Halloween Bash from 9pm -1am at the Newtown Athletic Club (party is open to the public). Food, wine & beer, and entertainment will all be included for $30. Plus, the Bucks Happening crew will be awarding great prizes to the best costumes of the night in five categories: 1) Best Overall, 2) Best Group/Couple, 3) Funniest, 4) Scariest, and 5) Most Creative.

All weekend, the Black Bass Hotel is hosting haunted happenings to share the many ghosts stories surrounding The Bass throughout its history. Find out for yourself whether or not the tales are true, while enjoying dinner in the Restaurant or Tavern.

Witch, Margaret Mattson

On Sunday, October 31st from 1-4pm Pennsbury Manor will mark Halloween in their Living History Theatre re-enacting a 1684 witch trial. Serve on the jury for the witch trial of Margaret Mattson and enjoy this free family event with games, trick-or-treating, and more!

If you’re looking for a safe environment to take your children trick or treating this year then you should consider stopping by the Central Bucks Family YMCA to walk the Treat Trail on Saturday, October 30th, from 6 to 8pm.  As you and your children are walking the Treat Trail there will be certain areas noted as ‘scary’ and should be entered at parents’ discretion. This way if your children are younger you can avoid the ‘scary’ areas while still taking part in all of the other fun areas along the Treat Trail. Following the Treat Trail throughout the Y, guests will enjoy cider and cookies, music and an indoor campfire. The event will be held, rain or shine and is completely free and open to the Bucks County community. For details about this event you can contact Rachel Mauer via email (rmauer@cbfymca.org) or by phone at 215-348-8131, x 1167.

Graeme Park will be hosting its annual Haunted Moonlight Halloween tour on Friday, October 29 at 7:00, 7:30, 8:00, and 8:30. The tours are $12 per person and reservations and prepayment are required. Visitors will hear the details of the reports of Elizabeth Graeme Fergusson's ghost, interwoven with the story of Elizabeth’s life, on these guided candlelit tours. Costumed actors bring to life the events which may contribute to Elizabeth’s unrest through the ages and relay some of the stories that have “haunted” the Keith House since the dawn of the 19th century. Reservations are required. Call 215-343-0965 for more information or to reserve.

The third annual pumpkin beer tasting will happen this Friday, October 29th at 5pm at the Washington House in Sellersville. Try four different brewer’s concepts of this unusual beer style as you prepare for Halloween. Beer tastings highlight either a brewery or a beer theme. Featured beers are offered in tasting flights of three or four 6oz pilsners and are accompanied by an informative printed description of the brews. Price for a flight varies but is generally in the $9-$10 range The tasting flights are available in the bar or the dining rooms. Food can be ordered á la carte.
