To round out our 2014 celebrations in honor of Women’s History Month, we decided to team up with the Women’s Business Forum (WBF), one of Bucks County’s top nonprofit networks of female businesswomen. The WBF is dedicated to educating, mentoring and inspiring women to build and grow successful businesses. BH and WBF asked members what it means to them to be a Happening Woman. Below are the Top Ten responses. (To learn more about the Women’s Business Forum, click here.)

To me it means embracing challenges and going for success so we can utilize our resources to make a real difference in our community.

Dana

– Dana Baedke, President & CEO at Key Marketing, WBF President

Being a “Happening Woman” means having endless opportunities to meet, help, learn from, and share ideas with people from all different types of backgrounds.

Allison

– Allison Riney, Freelance Writer and Marketing Manager at Adventive Ideas, WBF Social Media Coordinator

For me it means really listening to others and then collaborating to create a win-win outcome.

Sandy

– Sandy Gerger, Independent Graphic Design Professional at Sandy Gerger, WBF Volunteer Coordinator

…a happening woman connects, builds relationships, and shines a light on others. I believe it’s only when we help others to achieve success that we truly flourish in our own lives.

Kim

– Kim Carter, President at Catalytics Performance Consulting, WBF Programs Co-chair

To me, it means taking an active role in the success of Bucks County businesses and giving them the benefit of my experience and expertise. Helping other entrepreneurs succeed fulfills my mission.

Catherine

– Catherine Cavella, Founder of IP Works, PLLC (Cavella & Associates), WBF Advisory Board Member

My first reaction to what is a “Happening Woman” is that many women would not put themselves into that description – though they should. They are busy “doing” & don’t feel very “happening”. They are the Mom’s next door, the businesswomen, and the entrepreneurs trying to figure out how to make it all work.

Christine

– Christine Ballantine, Certified Holistic Health Coach at ChrstineBallantine.com, WBF President-Elect

To make thing happen that matter to people with whom you work, live, and share your community. After all, if you want something done properly, ask a Happening Woman!

maria

– Maria Evans, MARTINO EVANS Clear/Concise/Communications, WBF Communications Committee Chair and past president

It means I am helping people. When I started my business, my goal was to help seniors stay in their homes, do the little stuff that they can’t do anymore. Go up a ladder and change the battery in the smoke detector, install a grab bar in the shower. And the plus side for me, I get to listen to their stories.

– Mary Lennon, Lennon's Small Jobs, WBF Membership Chair

She is tired!! LOL and I am partly serious. That is the first thought that came to mind!

cindy

– Cindy Bergvall, Director at Bee, Bergvall, & Co. and Consultant for the Catalyst Center for Nonprofit Management, WBF Member

Being a Happening Woman in Bucks County means knowing in your heart that the sky is the limit. This is a wonderful area to raise a family and grow a business. It also offers the right mix of people to support you with both. A woman can accomplish great things in Bucks County.- Bonnie Gepner, WBF Administrator
