Welcome to the Center for Advanced Technologies
The new and impressive state-of-the-art 28,000 sq ft Center for Advanced Technologies (CAT), at Bucks County Community College’s Epstein Campus in Bristol, was designed to develop the skilled workforce necessary for continued economic growth in our region. It includes three high bay labs for machining, electro-mechanical and welding, plus two computer labs, and was built with flexibility to allow for changing industry demands.
The CAT houses workforce training programs in manufacturing and the skilled trades, giving students the opportunity to launch meaningful and lucrative careers in high-demand occupations. Many of the program offerings are grant funded and free of charge to students.
The CAT offers three registered pre-apprenticeship programs in Metalwork (CNC machining), Industrial Maintenance, and the Building & Construction Trades. These programs were developed in partnership with over 250 manufacturing partners, and with the Philadelphia Building & Construction Trades Unions. They embed employability skills, career coaching and job development, and the Industrial Skills Training Programs have sustained over a 90% job placement rate since their inception.
Program Offerings
A new accelerated Welding Program was launched in June 2023, and has seen very high demand. The College plans to launch a new Electrical Program in Spring 2024. Both of these programs are offered in the evenings. Other programs include their new Entrepreneurship@Bucks, Pharmacy Technician, Dental Assisting, ESL (English as a Second Language), Commercial Drivers License Certification and Youth Workforce Initiatives.
