The annual Bucks County Bluegrass Festival will be held on September 6th and 7th on the picturesque pastures of Snipes Farm in Morrisville PA. Headlining this year’s festival is New Jersey’s own extraordinary banjoist and internationally known bluegrass musician, Tony Trischka.
The New York Times has called Tony Trischka the “Godfather of New Acoustic Music” as he is perhaps the most influential banjo player in the roots music world. For more than 35 years, his unique music style has inspired a whole generation of bluegrass and acoustic musicians. He has played with a “who’s who” of incredible musicians and has performed on winning and nominated Grammy albums. In 2007, Tony Trischka was also voted “Banjo Player of the Year” and won the “Instrumental Album of the Year.”
Also on this incredible festival are HogMaw, Glimmer Grass Band, Free Grass Union, Colin Reeves, Jersey Corn Pickers, The Turnips, Sully’s Fortune, Big Valley Bluegrass, Evan and the Bugs, and Boulevard Express.
The family-friendly festival will start on Friday with gates open at 5PM and music starting at 6:30PM and running until 10:30PM. On Saturday gates open at 9AM with music beginning at 11:00AM and running all day until 11:00PM.
Music at Snipes Farm has been using the farm as a backdrop for a unique music venue, hosting a variety of concerts and festivals since 2003. Bring a blanket and beach chairs and enjoy the most beautiful concert venue in the area.
