Bucks Happening's Weekly Guide

Don't worry you still have one week to get the turkey and defrost it! But Thanksgiving is approaching quickly, so don't forget to check out the guide. In case you are still putting off the food shopping and preparation until next week, there are great things happening this weekend in Bucks County!

Get in the holiday spirit with the 5th annual Bucks County Holiday Treefest Tree Lighting Ceremony on November 23rd from 5:30-7pm. There will be 25 decorated trees that will be lit! Enjoy the music of Bob Egan, refreshments and the arrival of Santa by firetruck at 6pm. The event will be held at the Bucks County Visitors Center in Bensalem.

The Bucks County Academy of Fencing has opened its second location on Route 309 in Hatfield. This Sunday, November 21st from 11am-4pm their will be an open house where you can stop by to visit and fence! There will be free food and prizes. The BH team had a visit with BCAF at their Lambertville location back in August – check out Part 1 and Part 2 of our visit!

Start shopping before the holidays at the County Christmas Craft Show and Sale at the James Lorah Memorial Home in Doylestown on November 18th from 4-9pm, November 19th & 20th from 10am-9pm and November 21st from 11am-3pm. This is the 32nd year and running with locally hand made items including: candy, baked goods, stained & painted glass, pottery, totes & purses, jewelry, children’s toys, florals & wreaths, candles, needle work, quilts, pillows, stationary, and clothing.

In order to provide the high quality services that children and families affected by autism deserve, Potential Inc. is continually putting together events that will benefit their nonprofit organization and elementary school. This Saturday , November 20, they'll be hosting their 3rd Annual Casino Night Fundraiser from 7:00-11:00p.m.at the American Legion Post 440 at 41 Linden Ave, Newtown PA 18940. The Casino night will include hors d'oeuvres, refreshments, music, funny money for casino games, and Chinese auction. Proceeds will benefit treatment programs for children and adults with autism in Bucks County and surrounding areas. Tickets are available online at: https://potential-inc.ticketleap.net/casino

Decking the windows in preparation for Thursday's House Tour

The Historic Langhorne Association will hold its 51st Holiday House Tour on Thursday, November 18th from 11am-8:30pm. This year’s tour will feature the decoration of four lovely Langhorne historic and contemporary private homes in addition to the historic Richardson House and Anna Mary Williamson Library. Tea will be served at the Middletown Country Club, featuring the much anticipated gourmet, home made cookies prepared by Four Lanes End Garden Club members. This annual event will feature live floral arrangement demonstrations, holiday gift vendors and live music at various locations. Tickets are $15 in advance or$18 at the door. The 2nd annual Hanukkah Happening is taking place on Sunday, November 21st 10am-2pm at the Congregation Beth El in Yardley. There will be over 50 different vendors for holiday shopping and also gift wrapping! Games and crafts for children will begin at 12noon. You can also get all your Beth El “spirit” items, including t-shirts, sweat shirts and blankets.
