Lower Bucks

In Bensalem on Memorial Day, May 31, Veterans of Foreign Wars posts in Eddington and Andalusia will lead a parade down Bristol Pike from the Suzuki Fun Center at 2639 Route 13 to Mill Park, the city line with Philadelphia. The parade is scheduled to start at 10 AM

The Robert W. Bracken American Legion Post 382 in Bristol Borough will hold Memorial Day services on Monday, May 30 at the Harriman Monument on the corner of Farragut Avenue and Monroe Street at 9 a.m., continuing at St. Mark’s Church on Radcliffe Street at 9:30 a.m., followed by St. James Church located at Walnut and Cedar streets at 10 a.m. and concluding at the Bristol Cemetery on Route 13 at 11 a.m.Celebrate Memorial Day in Langhorne with all your favorite Sesame Street friends at the Sesame Place Memorial Day BBQ at Big Bird’s Riverside Pavilion on May 29th 5:30-6:30, 7:30-8:30pm! After a fun-filled dinner and enjoy the Memorial Day fireworks display! Dinner includes an all-you-can-eat buffet of BBQ chicken, smoked beef brisket, hamburgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, mashed potatoes, mac n’ cheese, salads, rolls, beverages and desserts.

The Langhorne Memorial Day Parade will be held on May 30th at 9am starting at the Jesse W. Soby American Legion Post home at 115 West Richardson Avenue. Bands, emergency responders, community organizations, the Boy Scouts, the Langhorne Borough Business Association and dignitaries from Langhorne Borough, Langhorne Manor Borough and Middletown Township will be on hand while children can participate in a decorated bike contest.

The Morrisville Memorial Day Parade will kick off at 9am at Morrisville Presbyterian Church.

New Hope & Lambertville are kicking of their second season of Friday Night Fireworks on Memorial Day Weekend! Head over on Friday, May 27th at 9pm to see the spectacular show.

The annual Newtown Memorial Day Parade, organized by the Morell Smith Post 440 of the American Legion, will step off at 9 a.m. on Monday, May 30 from the Newtown Commons.

The Penndel-Hulmeville Memorial Day Parade takes place Saturday, May 28 beginning at 9 a.m. in Hulmeville and concluding at the Penndel Memorial Field.

Northampton holds an Memorial Day Observances at 8 a.m. on Monday, May 30 with a flag lowering ceremony in front of the seven flag poles at the Northampton Township building, 55 Township Road, Richboro.

On May 30th, Warminster Township, which happens to be celebrating their 300 year old anniversary, is holding their Memorial Day Parade.  Parade starts at Township Building east on Henry Avenue, North on York Road, East on Street Road, North on Louis Drive, Parade ends at VFW Post on Louis Drive.

Local veterans, borough officials and community volunteers have again all stepped up to support the 2011 Yardley Memorial Day events. Starting at 7 a.m. on Monday, May 30, 21-gun salute will be issued at Slate Hill, Saint Andrews and Saint Ignatius cemeteries.

Central Bucks

Doylestown is holding their 145th Memorial Day Parade on May 30ths at 10am. The Friends of Doylestown Dog Park will be marching in the parade and everyone is welcome to join with or with out your dog(s)! If you would like to join us please contact Jessica Herman at Jessrose17@comcast.net.  The parade starts at CB West, east on West Court Street, east on west State Street, north on North Main Street to Doylestown Cemetery for service.

Fuel up for the parade festivities with the Memorial Day Pancake Breakfast from 7:00 am – 12:00 pm at the Doylestown Masonic Lodge's Annual Event.

 In the Civil War Encampment, living historians introduce visitors to the early days of the Civil War in the North at Mercer Museum in Doylestown on May 28th from 10 am-5pm and May 29th 12-5 pm. Visit with engineers and map makers, join the ranks of new recruits to the Union Army, watch medical demonstrations, interact with local civilians, and participate in special demonstrations and activities. Program marks the beginning of the 150th anniversary of the Civil War. Rain or Shine. Included with museum admission.

 

 A Memorial Day Doylestown Open House will be at the Bucks County Civil War Library & Museum from 8:30am-noon on May 30th. Residents are invited to take guided tours with uniformed docents. Active duty military families can visit before or after the Doylestown Memorial Day Parade to share history in partnership with the Blue Star Museums program as developed by the National Endowment for the Arts.

At 9am, on Sunday, May 30th, the annual Perkasie Memorial Day Parade will kick off at 9am.

Upper Bucks

A Memorial Day Service will be held at Hilltown Civic Park on Rt. 152 near the village of Hilltown at 10AM on Monday, May 30th to honor our servicemen and women. All are welcome to attend.

On Monday, May 30 at 9AM, Quakertown holds their American Legion Memorial Day Parade, running from 9th Street and Park Avenue to Mill Street and Memorial Service at Memorial Park from 4th Street to Broad. Parade ends at Legion Post.

From 9:30am to 3pm, its the 21st Annual Summerfest Arts & Crafts Show and Benefit Auction in Quakertown. Admission is free and there will be food and lots of fun with kids games and activities like fishing derby, balloon artist, canoeing, rock wall, & carriage rides.
