America's History Live: Welcome to Historic Newtown Hall

When: Now through March 21, daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Bucks County Visitor Center, 3207 Street Road, Bensalem

Step back in time to the 1850’s at Newtown Hall, now known as The Newtown Theatre. Learn about the Newtown Hall sermons by Frederick Douglass, Lucretia Mott and other key figures of the early anti-slavery and women's suffrage movements. Discover the story of many of our nation's abolitionists and early women's suffrage pioneers while viewing life-sized figures dressed in period attire, anti-slavery literature, women’s suffrage memorabilia, accessories, photos, and more. In celebration of Black History Month, this display will also include Bucks County children’s artwork.

Black History Month Exhibition at Arete Gallery

When: Thursday through Sunday in February from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: 122 S. Main Street, New Hope

Arete Gallery celebrates Black History Month with the alluring work of three distinct and influential Black female artists. This month, come enjoy photographer Estizer Smith, poet Dr. Martina McGowan and mixed media artist Natalie Alleyne.

Experience Janis: The Music of Janis Joplin Live at The New Hope Winery

When: Friday, February 19 at 8 p.m. (doors open at 7 p.m.)
Where: 6123 Lower York Road, New Hope

Experience Janis! With a twinkle in her eye and that rasp in her voice, CC Coletti channels the spirit of Janis Joplin, belting out hit after hit in a heartfelt tribute performance. Her band of seasoned pros recreates the sound that defined a generation, slamming through classic 60s jams, laying down the soul, and conveying the tender ballads and old timey blues numbers that made Joplin a legend.

Baby Yoda Make & Take at Makers Off Main

When: Saturday and Sunday, February 20 and 21 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Where: 224 N. Main Street, Doylestown

Drop in to create your very own Baby Yoda out of a cardboard tube. Includes all of the materials needed – cardboard tube (super sturdy from rolls of vinyl), vinyl features, paper, glue and markers. $10 per child. You can craft inside with masks or at tables outside. No pre-registration required.

Kids' Flow/Paint Pouring Workshop at Amanda Layre's Fine Art Studio

When: Saturday, February 20 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: 33 Union Street, Doylestown

Bring your art-loving young ones to the studio for a memorable paint-pouring session!

This is an easy-to-follow workshop that promises immense fun, as your child gets to identify and express their emotions through colors. Through hands-on play, (s)he will be able to create paintings with acrylic pouring techniques in colors that best represent him/her.

Laura will be demonstrating 3 fluid art techniques, and afterward, your child will create your masterpieces, on a 12″/16″ canvas. Painting can be picked up after 5 days.
