Summer is that time of year where being active, playing sports, and exercising seems to just come naturally. However, we know that once the cooler weather hits, so does our desire to stay indoors and maybe catch up on some indoor reading or TV watching. We've put together this list of ways to stay active during the summer-fall transition. We've rounded up some local sports and activities to keep you moving.

Adult sports leagues are always a great way to keep you active during cooler months. While dodgeball seems to be off the courts for now, all of the local YMCAs still offer adult sports leagues to keep you on your toes. This season's games are basketball and volleyball. For all the ladies out there, there is also the Bensalem Women's Soccer League that plays during the fall and spring seasons. They welcome all women 18 years and older at all ability levels.

When there is nice weather, chances are high that you will come across at least one bicyclist on the road. And who can blame them with the up coming up Bucks County Classic. Spread out over 2 days of bike riding fun, there is a race for people of all ages. For the top competitors, there is the New Hope to Doylestown Road Race [September 7th], one of only three internationally sanctioned road races is the US. For a long, recreational ride, check out the Cyclosportif 100k which is a 62 mile hilly course that takes riders through Bucks County.

And once those colder months do hit, you can still stay active indoors. The ever-popular Zumba is offered everywhere and now it is offered in different forms. There is the basic Zumba, perfect for anyone just jumping into the dance craze. For those looking for more of a body sculpting experience, there is Zumba Toning.
