Fall is the purrrrfect season to spend time with your pet, whether it’s walks together enjoying the crunchy leaves or taking part in one of the area’s pet costume events or even just getting a good grooming.

PET PARADES and COSTUME CONTESTS

HOWL-o-ween Trick for a Treat Parade

When: Saturday, October 19 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Where: Town & Country Pet Care, 393 Langhorne Avenue, Langhorne

Spend a fun festive day with your fur baby! Dress your pet in costume for a chance to win a prize. There will be awards for: Best Overall, Scariest, and Most Original Costumes. Enjoy special pet-friendly goodies for all that attend followed by playtime and music.

Autumn Alive!

When: Saturday, October 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  (Rain date October 26)
Where: 312 Broad St., Quakertown

The Annual Autumn Alive! celebration is a day of outdoor fun in Quakertown for the family. Children’s activities and crafts, farm-fresh produce, demonstrations, native plant sale, flea market, informational booths from local groups, merchant specials, live music and more. Don’t forget to bring your furry friends for the pet parade.

2019 Pet Masquerade – Animal Alliance

When: Saturday, Oct. 19, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Where: Mary E. Sheridan Park, 56 George Street, Lambertville

There will be a pet costume contest and parade, food vendors, some adoptable animals from Animal Alliance, and lots of fun for the whole family. Registration fee is $15 for each pet. Prizes awarded for various categories. Rain date is Saturday, Oct. 26th.

Howl-O-Ween at Crossing Vineyards

When: Saturday and Sunday, October 26-27 from noon to 6 p.m.
Where: 1853 Wrightstown Road, Newtown

Dress up your favorite doggies and bring them to Crossing Vineyards for Howl-O-Ween Pawty! Pose with your pooch for a complimentary pic (noon to 2 pm). Wear your own costume and get a coupon and return for a complimentary wine tasting. Enjoy specials from the bar, spooky music and treats for your group. No cover charge.

Doylestown Spooktacular Parade & Costume Contest

When: Saturday, October 26 at 10 a.m.
Where: Pine Street, Doylestown

This free family event in the heart of Doylestown is fun for adults, kids and well-behaved pets! The event begins with registration for the costume contest at 10 a.m. on the lawn of the old courthouse along Court Street. Costume judging begins at 11 a.m. with prizes for Kids, Pets and Family Theme. The parade will begin after the costume winners are announced (around noon) and will go down Pine Street and along E. State Street to Main Street. Kids (and pets!) are welcome to trick-or-treat at participating businesses after the parade.

Halloween Photoshoot & Event at Pet Valu

When: Saturday, October 26 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: Newtown Pet Valu, 2814 S. Eagle Road, Newtown

Gemini Pet Services will be at the Newtown Pet Valu to take portraits of your pet. Bring your pet in a Halloween costume for a chance to win a prize.

Howl-O-Ween 2019 Costume Contest at World of Animals

When: Saturday, October 26 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: 3462 Bristol Pike, Bensalem

Does your fur-baby have a great costume this year for Halloween?? Bring your pet in for a chance to win our costume contest. The pet with the most Facebook likes wins our prize gift basket with gift certificate! Refreshments for pets and people too!

Paint Your Pet Class at Painting with a Twist

When: Sunday, October 27 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Where: 2337 Street Road, Bensalem

After registering for this class, you’ll email a hi-res photo of your pet to the studio. They will sketch your pet onto canvas and have it ready for you to paint in class! Painting with a Twist was a Happening List Finalist for Date Night and Group Outing.

A Day in the Park

Spend a day at one of the county’s dog parks such as our Happening List Winner Friends of Morrisville Dog Park or Happening List Finalists Richlandtown Dog Park or Falls Township Dog Park.

Get Primped

Cooler temperatures can make it uncomfortable to hose down a pet outside after a muddy walk. Or, maybe your furry friend could benefit from a new fall look! Schedule an appointment with our Happening List Winner All-Star Pet Grooming.

Trick or Treat

Teach your pet a trick at a class offered by a dog trainer such as Lead the Way Dog Training in Bensalem, Bucks Happening List Winner for Best Pet Trainer. Then reward him or her with a treat from Cool Dog Gear in Langhorne, our Happening List Winner for Best Pet Shop.
