Halloween is quickly approaching, which means time is ticking to find the perfect costume! For singles, choosing the right Halloween costume can make or break an evening.
Will my costume stand out in a crowd? Start a fun conversation? Give me an excuse to break out a fake accent?
For girls, it's pretty straight forward. I can’t help but think about that Mean Girls quote by Cady Heron, the movie’s protagonist:
“Halloween is the one night a year when girls can dress like a total slut and no other girls can say anything about it.”
I won’t even pretend like I haven’t jumped on this bandwagon.
A guy's Halloween costume, however, can reveal a lot about their personality. (This also works the other way around but let's be real, most guys are distracted by the scantily clad girls!) So girls- use Halloween to your advantage and start decoding his costume:
The Fireman/Police Officer/Doctor: Either a) a lazy guy- “I couldn’t think of anything original, so I went with this.” or b) really wants to show off what he does for a living- “Yeah, I'm a fireman. No big deal.”
The Scary Costume: This guy is young at heart & willing to go the distance- “Boo!” Just make sure he isn't bordering on immature.
The Funny Costume: Obviously, this guy is good for a laugh and definitely has potential as long as he doesn't mind sharing the limelight.
The Clever Costume: Too. cool. for. school. (& probably a hipster)- “I love that half of these people don’t know who I am and will act completely shocked and judge you when you ask me about it. I'm so original.” (Side-note: I’ve definitely done this!)
The Pretend Costume: You know the type- the guy looks like an average person and proceeds to make up some story like, “Oh, I’m dressed as my brother!” Watch out, this guy is either a swindler or super into his group of friends.
No Costume: BORING! Moving on…
