Since entering the “green phase,” Bucks County can now offer limited indoor seating at restaurants. But with the restrictions in place, people's personal comfort levels, and just a general fondness for dining al fresco, outdoor options still remain a popular choice. We're sharing just some of the many wonderful local spots with outdoor seating that go beyond just eating in the fresh air.

Live Music

While it might be a while before we can attend a big concert, at least we can still enjoy some “socially distant” live music this summer.

Our 2020 Happening List Winner for Pizza, Vince's Pizzeria & Taproom is a great weekend destination with pizza, beer and live music on the patio Friday through Sunday. Plus, it's right next to Carousel Village, which is home to OWowCow – a Happening List Finalist for Ice Cream.

Keeping with the theme of drinks, food, ice cream and music, The Stone's Throw at Shady Brook Farm has a new outdoor seating area complete with large tents for shade (and to keep you out of the rain.) They have live music Friday through Sunday, and you can also grab your favorite cone from Uncle Dave's Ice Cream on the premises.

And if you want to feel like you're in vacay, check out Friday Night Live at the Newtown Athletic Club's Escape Resort. Open to the community after 6 p.m., you can enjoy drinks and food poolside with live music from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. They even have childcare available, if you make a reservation before 2 p.m.

Incredible Views

With so many beautiful areas in Bucks County, there are plenty of restaurants that offer eye scenic views along with tasty food. Stella by Jose Garces (a Happening List Finalist) and The Landing Restaurant are both New Hope favorites that boast amazing views of the water as you look across from New Hope to Lambertville. And if you want to take a short walk across the bridge, try Lambertville Station on the other side.

By the Water

This might seem a bit redundant, but waterside dining deserves its own callout. You really can't get much closer to the river than Black Bass Hotel in Lumberville. And if you're lucky enough to have your own boat, you'll want to take advantage of the dock in Bristol Borough and grab a seat on the patio (or takeout) at King George Inn.

People Watching

After months of quarantine, have you forgotten what it's like to see people outside of your family?! Then choose one of our 2020 Happening List favorites for People Watching. GreenHouse and Havana (both in New Hope) and The Green Parrot are all open with outdoor dining (plus limited indoor seating as well.)

Dog-Friendly

If you're looking to get a bite to eat while bringing along your furry companion, there are options for that, too. Leashed dogs are allowed to accompany guests at Peddler's Village, and with additional tables set up throughout the Village for eating, there are plenty of places that you can grab takeout and then eat with your pooch by your side. Plus, Earl's New American allows dogs on their patio dining area.

King George Inn in Bristol and Dog and Bull in Croydon are two more spots that allow dogs.

Note: It's best to check with restaurants before arriving with your dog, as some restaurants have temporarily stopped allowing dogs during this time.

Romantic Ambiance

Has it been ages (maybe since mid-March?!) since you've had a proper Date Night? Many of the previously named spots make for a perfect night out with your special someone, but if you need even more ideas, Honey in Doylestown and Inn at Barley Sheaf were both named Finalists for Most Romantic in the 2020 Happening List.
