The Saturday after Thanksgiving (Nov. 28th this year) is Small Business Saturday, a day dedicated to supporting locally-owned shops, restaurants and businesses.

Setting aside a specific day to shop local businesses is a reminder that local businesses help to foster a sustainable economy. The money spent locally stays local and benefits the community. Plus, shoppers can find that one-of-a-kind gift that can’t be bought anywhere else. Shopping locally can remind us that we are all connected … and in 2020, this might be more true than ever before!

We put together our 2020 #LoveLocal Gift Guide HERE full of some of Happening Media's favorite businesses.

Below, you'll find just a few Bucks County destinations that are perfect for Small Business Saturday and throughout the holiday season. (And remember to check virtual shopping options for local spots, too!):

New Hope/Lambertville

New Hope is home to eclectic shopping, riverside dining and holiday festivities such as Santa's Steam Spectacular and more. While you're there, be sure to stop by La Chelé Medical Aesthetics. They're offering a number of Black Friday specials this weekend including discounts on gift cards, services, pre-made gift boxes and pre-filled stocking with favorite products.

If you're in New Hope, it's just a walk over the bridge to visit the neighboring town of Lambertville. Lambertville is a haven of antique shops, art galleries and curiosity shops. Zanya Spa Salon (a Happening List Finalist in multiple categories) will be offering Black Friday specials from November 22 through November 29. Before heading home, visit Lambertville Station for a warm meal – either outside by the heat lamps or inside by the fireplace. (You can pick up gift cards there, too!)

Peddler's Village

Peddler's Village is always a popular holiday shopping destination. With over 60 specialty shops and boutiques, several wonderful restaurants, and tons of holiday charm, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Some new additions include Fox & Holly and Farmer's Daughter.

Remember to visit the Annual Gingerbread House Display, in a more socially distant venue this year!

Downtown Doylestown Borough

Shopping in Doylestown Borough offers something for everyone with a selection of unique specialty shops. This year, they're expanding Small Business Saturday to last the entire weekend! While you're there, enjoy the festive decorations. There are over 100 new 3′ lit wreaths having on the lamp posts and the tree is lit in the town center.

Yardley

Stroll around and experience Yardley's food and beverage options, specialty retail and wellness services. While shopping, stop by the Greetings From Yardley mural and snap a selfie using the hashtag #GreetingsFromYardley.

Some favorite businesses include Pretty Bird Coffee, Yardley Inn Restaurant, Chucky's Crab Cake Co. and Witt Pilates.

Bristol Borough

Since being featured in the show Small Business Revolution in 2017, Bristol Borough has undergone a huge revitalization. So if you haven't been there recently, the holiday season is the perfect time to visit. And if you have been there, well then you already know! Shop unique stores such as Bristol Antiques Market, Another Time Antiques, Mignoni Jewelry, Polka Dot Parlor, Re-Urban It, and more. After working up an appetite, choose from the many eateries such as Bricky Girl Tea Room, Itri, Jules@Market, Mill Street Cantina and King George Inn.

While there won't be a traditional tree lighting this year, “The Tree” is up and lit, making the Borough an even happier place to shop during the holiday season.
