Happy December! Santa is making his arrival this weekend at tree lightings and parades throughout Bucks County. Head to the Newtown Holiday Parade or go see Light Up the Vines. NBA/McCaffrey's Newtown Holiday Parade

When: Sunday, December 5th, 2-4 pm
Where: State Street, Washington Avenue, Sycamore Street, Newtown, PA

The Newtown Business Association will present the 17th Annual McCaffrey's Newtown Holiday Parade on Sunday, December 5th at 2 pm. With an estimated 1,800 participants, the parade continues to provide a magical experience for the entire community and will include the Council Rock High School marching bands, Philadelphia's Mummers Bands, horse drawn carriages, floats, antique cars, color guard, fire trucks with Santa and much, much more! The parade will begin on South State Street at the Stocking Works building and continue north on State Street, turning left on Washington Ave, then turning right onto Sycamore Street and coming to an end at Durham Road (just past the Green Parrot). Holiday Photos with The Grinch and Sandy Claws

When: December 3rd, 4:30 – 8 pm
Where: Philadelphia Sports Clubs, Chalfont, Pa

Take your holiday photos with the Grinch and Sandy Claws at Philadelphia Sports Clubs in Chalfont this Friday. The cost is $30 and includes individual or family portraits – two-pro quality photos (two poses + one boomerang video) – digital downloads. Each photo session is 5 mins long. The Grinch is from 4:30 – 7 and Sandy Claws is from 7-8 pm. This is an indoor event. Bring a donation for Toys for Tots and receive a free custom holiday greeting from The Grinch.

Bucks County Wine Trail Holiday Celebration

‘Tis the season for mulled wines and holiday cookies. The seven wineries of the Bucks County Wine trail have plenty of each to help ring in the holidays. Celebrate at the annual Holiday Celebration on December 4th and 5th. Visitors will experience the beauty of the wineries decorated for the holidays while enjoying spiced wines, Christmas cookie sampling and artisanal cheeses, while relaxing to the sound of holiday music. Guests can jump start holiday shopping with special discount pricing, wine gift packs, gift baskets and unique wine accessories. The Holiday Celebration is off the kickoff for Light Up the Vines, the second annual vineyard illumination.

The wineries of the Bucks County Wine Trail are holding their second annual Light Up the Vines holiday illumination. See the beauty of the holiday season with beautifully lit vineyards. The celebration kicks off on December 4th at the following wineries:

Souderton Tree Lighting & Holiday Parade

When: December 3rd and 4th
Where: 121 N. Main Street, Souderton, PA

The Souderton Tree Lighting takes place on Friday, December 3rd and will include entertainment, shopping, photos with Santa and holiday cheer! The holiday parade takes place on Saturday, December 4th. It strolls along North Main Street and East Broad Street. This year, the floats will be following a theme of “celebration,” just in time for holiday festivities. Bring your whole family to enjoy a day of fun with an opportunity to meet Santa Claus.

Playwicki Farm Holiday Celebration

When: Saturday, December 4th, 3:30 pm
Where: Playwicki Farm, 2350 Bridgetown Pike, Feasterville-Trevose, PA

From 3:30 – 8:30 pm, there will be a DJ, Neshaminy High School band, shopping in the barn, great food vendors, coffee, hot chocolate, bonfire, craft for the kids and Santa will be arriving at 5:30 pm on a fire truck. There will also be a tree lighting. Each family has a private visit with Santa in the decorated farm house. Bring a camera!

Doric House Tours

When: Sunday, December 5th, 1-3 pm
Where: Doric House Museum, 114 Main Street, Flemington, NJ

Explore one of Hunterdon County's most beautiful Greek-Revival homes when the Hunterdon County Historical Society reopens the Doric House Museum for tours. Come out December 5th from 1-3 pm to learn all about the home and the people who lived there. Make sure to visit the museum's second floor Astle-Alpaugh Gallery, which features an exhibit of historic Main Street Flemington photos dating from 1889-1905. The images come from the archival collection of the estate of John F. Schenk and capture the shops, houses, churches and people on Main Street from the turn of the 20th century. The tours are free, and reservations are suggested, but not required.

Peter Wentz Farmstead Candlelight Tours

When: Friday, December 3rd
Where: Peter Wentz Farmstead, 2030 Shearer Road, Landsdale, PA

Join the historic Peter Wentz Farmstead for the return of the annual Candlelight Tours! This year, they will be offering tours of the first floor of the historic house by pre-registration only, allowing visitors to experience a winter's night on a colonial farm. In addition to the house tour, there will be several outdoor activities that can be enjoyed even without a ticket for the house tour. Visitors can watch a campfire cooking demonstration, chat with Revolutionary War soldiers from the 6th Pennsylvania Regiment and listen to stories from the Eastern Woodland Nations told by Lenape historian, Darius Puff. There is no cost for this event, however, visitors must pre-register for timed tickets in order to enter the house.

Holiday Wine, Cheese & Charcuterie Pairing

When: Friday, December 3rd, 5 pm – 7 pm
Where: Philadelphia Museum of Art, 2600 Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Philadelphia, PA

Learn how to build the perfect charcuterie board for your holiday table. Taste Chef Mark Tropea and Chef Michael's favorite local cheeses and cured meats in the café and learn how to compose the perfect holiday appetizer board. There are four menu selection experiences to choose from and tasting plates will be accompanied by tasting sheets to record your favorites and source them later. You'll also hear “meet the maker” stories about local creamery partners. Reservations are required and can be purchased here.

Red Mill Museum Village Festival of Trees

When: Saturdays and Sundays, December 4th – December 19th, noon – 6 pm
Where: Red Mill Museum Village, 56 Main Street, Clinton, NJ

Get in the festive spirit at Red Mill Museum Village. Decorated trees will be on display outside on the grounds of the museum. Musical performances and a reading by Mrs. Claus will complete the weekend. The festival is held Saturdays and Sundays through December 19th, noon – 6 pm.

Northeast Philly Cultural Celebration

When: Saturday, December 4th, 6 pm- 9 pm
Where: Philadelphia Insectarium and Butterfly Pavilion, 8046 Frankford Ave, Philadelphia, PA

A culmination of the past 100 years of cultures and people that call Philadelphia home. Cultural performers from China, India, Japan, Russia and many more will highlight the space with their talents. The night is a celebration of historical proportions. Trapeze performers and musicians will stun the crows and the East Coast's largest butterfly pavilion makes it clear where the new center of cultural night life is. Northeast Philadelphia is having a coming of age party to signify the heart and soul of the neighborhood. There will be beer, music, performers and people of all backgrounds that will come together in a smorgasbord of jubilation! Tickets are $30 online and $40 at the door.

Children's and Teens Used Book Sale

When: Saturday, December 4th, 10 am – 1 pm
Where: William Jeanes Memorial Library, 4051 Joshua Road, Lafayette Hill, PA

For one day only, the Friends of the William Jeanes Memorial Library are having a used book sale. Hardbacks and paperbacks in premium condition will make great holiday gifts. Prices will range from 50 cents to $10. There will be picture books, chapter books, graphic novels and more. Cash only. Change may not be available and no checks or credit cards will be accepted.

Celebrity Chef Kelsey Barnard Clark Book Signing at Yuengling Brewery

When: Saturday, December 4th, 12 pm – 1 pm
Where: D.G. Yuengling & Son, Inc., 420 Mahantongo Street, Pottsville, PA

On Saturday, December 4th, Yuengling is spicing things up with a special book signing and launch party for Top Chef champion and Yuengling Brand Ambassador, Kelsey Barnard Clark, hosted by 6th generation family member, Sheryl Yuengling. Fans are invited to celebrate the release of Kelsey's new cookbook, “Southern Grit” and welcome the celebrity chef for her first visit to America's Oldest Brewery.
