Happy weekend Bucks County! There's tons of fun events happening this weekend that you don't want to miss. Head into the city and participate in the PAWS Mutt Strut to raise funds for Philadelphia's homeless pets. Enjoy an evening in New Hope, listening to live music at the Dubliner on the Delaware. From comedy shows to Family Arts Day, this weekend is packed with a good time for the whole family. Check out what's happening below.


15th Annual PAWS Mutt Strut

When: Saturday, October 23rd
Where: The Navy Yard, 4747 S. Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA

Come out and attend the fall festival for dogs and the people who love them. The walk is along the scenic route at The Navy Yard to raise lifesaving funds for Philadelphia's homeless pets. It's more than a strut: enjoy live music, food trucks, costume and talent contests, agility course, paw print painting, a raffle with great prizes, family-friendly activities and much more. Spider's Tea Party

When: Saturday, October 23rd, 1:30 – 2:30 pm
Where: Peace Valley Nature Center, 170 N Chapman Road, Doylestown, PA

Bring your favorite stuffed pal for some tea (juice) and crumpets (snack food) at Spider's Tea Party at Peace Valley Nature Center. After, guests can listen to some creepy stories. The event is free, but donations are appreciated.

Gabriel Donohue at The Dubliner on the Delaware

When: Saturday, October 23rd, 7 – 10 pm
Where: The Dubliner on the Delaware, 34 N Main Street, New Hope, PA

Irish born multi-instrumentalist, singer songwriter, Gabriel Donohue is playing this Saturday at the Dubliner on the Delaware. He performs mostly on guitar and piano, but also plays other instruments from bouzouki/mandolin to Irish and exotic percussion. He performs throughout the USA, solo and with other top musicians.

Wordsmiths – Gallaher/Kline

When: Friday, October 22nd, 7:30 pm
Where: Tyler Hall 142, 275 Swamp Road, Newtown, PA

Wordsmiths presents poetry and prose readings on Friday evening. This event is free and open to the public.

 

Family Arts Day

When: Sunday, October 24th, 11 am – 5 pm
Where: The Conservatory, 4059 Skyron Drive, Doylestown, PA

Bring your entire family on Sunday, October 24th to the final day of the 11th Annual Traditional Artists Show. Family Arts Day is from 11 am – 5 pm, there will be cookie decorating, community painting with friends, a raffle and a bounce house. This is a FREE event, sponsored by The Conservatory. Suggested donation is $10.

Friday Night Comedy at the Castle

When: Friday, October 22nd, 6:00 – 9:30 pm
Where: Sand Castle Winery, 755 River Road, Erwinna, PA

Come out and enjoy the Kricket Comedy team at the winery. Relax, eat, drink, unwind and laugh. Gabby Loveland and Kevin Lepka will kick off the night, followed by headliner Coleman Green. Reservations are required. The show starts at 8 pm and happy hour is from 6-8 pm. All Sand Castle wines, PA beers and cocktais will be available for purchase (cash or credit card). Snacks and personal wood oven pizzas will be available for purchase during happy hour.

Craft Fair | Quakertown Farmers Market

When: Saturday, October 23rd, 9 am – 2 pm
Where: Quakertown Farmers Market, 201 Station Road, Quakertown, PA

The Craft Fair takes place this Saturday in Event Room #201. There will be handcrafted items for sale from local artists and crafters. Examples include earrings, crossbody bags, pouches, candles and soaps, table runners, placemats, aprons, quilts and so much more.

Boo Bash for Families

When: Friday, October 22nd, 5:30 – 7:30 pm
Where: Doylestown | YMCA of Bucks County, 2500 Lower State Road, Doylestown, PA

This event is free and open to the community. Join in on an evening of fun outside Halloween-themed activities, photo ops, crafts, music and dancing! Bring a trick or treating bag/bucket to fill with goodies along the way! This event is also offered at the Quakertown branch! Reservations are required. Register here.

Remembering Tom Petty: A Night of Music and Stories

When: Friday, October 22nd
Where: Hopewell Theater, 5 Greenwood Ave, Hopewell, NJ

This program is a musical celebration of Tom Petty's life and music through the lens of Petty's decades-long relationship with writer and musician, Warren Zanes. Zanes was eighteen when he first met Petty, and in his early fifties at the time of the legendary musician's passing. When Petty approached Zanes to write his biography, the two men had some history. Joined by a band that includes Chris Hartford, Ray Kubian, and Matt Kohut, Zanes will tell stories, play songs and turn the stage over to his band members to make their way through Petty material from across his long and glorious career.

ACME Halloween Film Fest: Plan B

When: Friday, October 22nd, 7 pm
Where: 204 N Union Street, Lambertville, NJ

When Lambertville flooded on September 1st, during Hurricane Ida, The Acme Screening Room was hit hard, and is still waiting to reopen their doors. For plan B, you are invited to still bring some holiday spirit to Lambertville's well known love of all things Halloween. Come see the town decorations and then spend the evening with back to back film fun at their Drive-In location.
